How's your Gas Mileage?
Hey everyone. I'm curious as to what you slightly modded guys and heavily modded guys are getting for gas mileage. Please post your significant mods and your mileage!
(ps Sorry if this is a repost)

Re: How's your Gas Mileage? (GDJ)
it is a repost, but search is down, so dont worry about it...
Anyways, I am not modded, but it seems that a lot of Turbo guys lose gas mileage by about 10mpg on average... because they apperantly aren't tuning right.. Bauley has about the same mileage as before turbo so he says... as long as it isnt running in boost of course... So that all comes down to tuning as far as I know...
Other posts ive seen show about 25-30 mpg on daily driving with more agressive cams.. at least from what Ive seen.
for those who mash on it all the time, with the same mods.. I believe they said around 20-25...
These are all from memory, and estimates... nothing concrete.. Ive seen as low as 15-17 mpg for some seriously modded, driven hard, race ready mods.

Alignment and drivetrain efficiency are also huge factors of mileage; check toe settings, CV conditions, and tire pressures. Also running a short ram intake for everyday driving will help mileage.
I went on the Super Street Tour in 2000 (D16Z6 at 110,000 miles with I/H/E), and I averaged 46 mpg on the way home.
Now I've got 250,000 miles, with a hot cam and a ton of fuel and drivetrain problems, and I'm still getting 32-35 mpg.

Re: How's your Gas Mileage? (Mark27)
Shitty winter 89 octane w/ SRI only = 30-33mpg
Less shitty summer 89 octane w/ SRI only = 37-40mpg
I attribute the worse winter mileage to the time spent idling to warm the car up every day as well as the shittier winter mix.
I cant wait to see what my mileage does after H/E, port & polish, hot cam and new valvetrain.

On Christmas Day, before I totalled my EX, I was getting about 31 mpg, with 212k on the odometer, and I drove it like a banshee.

93 EX EG, 55K on motor, AEM CAS, UR under-drive pulleys, Apex'i VAFC II (running a little rich), Tanabe sustec-SS type II suspension, 15" 2001 EX wheels w/ winter tires, Energy Sus PU bushings, test pipe running to stock EX exhaust, 93 octane at least, sometimes mixed with 100 octane gas. I get 29-32 MPG and I usually drive like a crack head on his way to get a fix. LMAO!!!
