How well does a modified stock AIRBOX work on a EG6???
Hi. yesterday i was talking to a couple of Race engineers who works part of a honda racing team. I went up their to buy some mounts and while their he wanted to check my car for fitment. As he was under the bonnet he spotted my Induction kit and ripped into me for having it.
He said that "the standard box cannot be beaten for airflow and that all i needed to do was rip out the resonator and put in a less restrictive panel filter".
He also said that honda hone the system very well from the factory and make some of the fastest flowing air cleaner systems. he also added that it has been proven that the integra type R airbox is the 2nd fastest flowing airbox behind the Bentley Continental GT with a W12 engine.
He has made me think about selling my CAI and modifying my old box.
But before i do so, what do you guys think??

While I would agree that Honda has some of the best factory induction systems, you will still see a slight gain from most aftermarket intakes.
I personally run the factory airbox in my car with the resonator and snorkel removed, and a K&N drop-in filter - however, that is only because I don't feel like spending the money for an aftermarket intake.
If you already have a CAI, just leave it.

I may try putting the standard box back on see what i think. i will take resonator off and try and make it draw in cold air.
