How to tell if a tranny is a B16 00 tranny ?
Hi,
I will go tomorrow to buy a 00 B16 tranny and I want to know how to tell if its really a b16 2000 tranny ?

it should be stamped s4 on the tranny.. if a vin tag is still there, it should say the 4th,5th,and 6th letters should say em1

According to this https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=850751 thread in the FAQ, the '99-00 Si trannys are Y21/S21.

Whatever you say . Mine is swapped or I would go look at it since it is not USDM. Besides I would hate to have to go outside in the snow and possibly awake the monster B16 (read : sarcasm) while he hibernates.

I just noticed that the T.S. is from Montreal. Would that make any kind of a difference?
