How to stay cool?
i have a turbocharge civic powered ls motor, it likes to overheat on long drives then at idle and wonder how i can prevent from this overheating when im idling?
i have the autozone 12'' 850 cfm fan pulling from the fluidyne civic radiator.
zerex 50/50 anitfreeze coolant
also fan stay on constantly
Help me with advice, please!
thinkin next on the list will have to the spoon thermostat?
could it be leakin pressure no its 1 week old (radiator)
both hoses are hot as hell
how to get more air for the radiator fins? intercooler in the way...
get a pusher fan in front too?
Thanks for any help!

yes half size but dual core, if i get the integra radiator the intercooler will still be in the way and i wont have a/c

Re: How to stay cool? (EG6owner)
A lower temp thermostat will do nothing because the stock thermostat is already wide open.
You could start to solve your problem by changing your coolant to 80-90% water and maybe add some water wetter. This will increase your cooling systems effectiveness.
If you still have an over heating problem, maybe you should ungrade to Koyo radiator (~55mm thick...~15mm thicker than the Fluidyne and dual core) or even ungrade to a integra full-sized radiator.

I had this same problem before and I just put a pusher fan on it. Between the IC and the radiator. Also I put a del Sol dual core on it too.

so you have 2 fans on it? i was thinkin about that or get an air duct from under to the rad.

Im curious to, would some stainless radiator hoses help him out?</TD></TR></TABLE>DUH! but it cuts on at a lower temp, thus cooling better.

Did you check what direction the blade is spining? Those fans usualy comes as a pusher fan. You will have to flip the blade. You cant just change the pularity. Check that.

Re: How to stay cool? (rob d)
i need to get on this too ..my intercooler i think is blocking the rad. cuz my motor never overheated b4, the civic rad looks like it got gunk build up and i could use a diff one, but once i turn the heat on and the blower it goes down, and when im idle it cools off quick, its only long any cruise longer than 20 min it starts creapin.
someone recommended watter wetter, and im gonna pick that up.

Re: How to stay cool? (chameleon)
I'm having this exact same problem
only i have turbo LS integra, with fluidyne full size dual core radiator. and im at about 60% water, 40% antifreeze. I have the passenger side fan as a puller and the driver side fan as a pusher. my car over heats like a mother (i live in arizona to make things even worse). my motor as about 130k miles on it and it never overheat until the install of the turbo. thoughts?

Re: How to stay cool? (tegasaurus)
My blades for sure are going the right direction and also I am using WaterWetter too. But I am going to try some of this Royal Purple stuff..."Purple ICE" with this motor.
Did you use the stock cap? Maybe try a higher pressure cap or even just but a new (rated the same LBS) one

Re: How to stay cool? (flat-blk-HB)
well i think i just found out my prob, had the car sitting in 1 spot all day, i check under the car and i catch one drop coming down, i checked the bottom hose and seems i have a leak coming from that one. and there was a pretty big amount that had leaked out since the puddle had reach the back of the car..
no wonder the car only heats up like after 20min of driving.. ima fix the leak and get some water wetter and see the improvement..

you are correct they come in pusher but i flipped it already and fan is blowing towards the engine
