Default How safe is to ride around on blown rear struts?

Aight I have a small dilemma,
I have the tockico illumina 1,75" strut/spring kit and the rear
struts recently blew. I was wondering if they can send me new
one w/o me sending the old ones back. BECAUSE
this would involve me doing THREE diffrence installs of $250 each.
Which i cant afford atm. Can they send me something to use and
then ill send then back the old ones?

Anyone ever have a similar problem?
I already payed for first install, now i would have to pay
for stock one back on, and then pay again for set ones --
not gonna happen.
Also how long can i safely ride around with blown rear struts
(ie. will anything else be damaged)

I dont know how safe it is, but I drove around with a blown driver side shock in my beater (92 cx) for almost a year. Made lots of stupid noises, but didnt really do any harm.

I dont think Tokico will do a cross ship for you. Call them and check, they are a pretty big company, maybe they will bend for you.

i would say its not safe. but if you have to drive it, just drive less than normal....meaning lower speed limits, slower turns, etc.

yea, i doubt they will let your send them the old one AFTER you got the new one...nice try though. that would be nice huh. just DIY =o) a LOT cheaper if you do. it wont kill your car AS LONG AS you DONT drive as fast as normal....take into consideration that your car is FUCKED UP (lol) so you need to be easy on i t till you get it fixed.

I really suggest you do it yourself. The rear civic suspension is next to nothing in labor.

A good mech can do that in about 20 minutes (both sides). Even an inexperienced guy could do it really easy.

If that is really not a option (no tools, no place to do it) then call them, see if you can get them to cross ship. If that is a no go, get some real shocks (konis)

i'd leave em there, if they dont effect the way your car handles, let them be..
waste of money.

After I put on my coilovers I realised that all of the struts on it were blown. I drove on them for 2 days. Do not drive fast with them on and do not take hard turns quickly. Even small groves on the road will send your car bouncing up and down violently.
