Default How to remove lug locks without key

I'm stuck, lost the key of my lug locks. Not sure what kind they are but it looks like the factory locks from either Honda or Acura. Well I tried honda and they don't have anything that matches the key.

Any advise on how to take them off. Really don't care if I damage it, I will just replace it with something else.

Thanks...

Send me a picture i have like 8 different sets of lug keys from various rims.

If that doesnt work, Depending on if its a Inset key or a socket type key you can usually use a big allen wrench with a breaker bar or if its a solid one you can put a socket thats close to the same size and drill a hole through socket and lug leave the bit in and turn the socket wrench ( dont use a shitty drill bit. )

you could weld a nut or bolt to the top of the lug if you cant get at it and just break it loose with a wrench. they also make a special socket to take them off its like an easyout in the shape of a socket.

snap on makes a socket for them. So does mac. Just go to local shops and look for the mac truck or snap on truck and tell him what you need

He meant weld a nut onto the lug nut to be able to put a wrench on it.

What? He said your lug... My friends dad drilled his out, but it messed up his rim a little bit. Welding on a lug seems like a pretty easy/quick fix if you have access to a welder.

edit. beat me to it. but seriously, what would welding a lug to your rim do??? Wheel weights? hahaha

how is welding a nut to your lug gonna ruin your rim? Your not welding it to the rim your welding it to the lug nut., Unless you cant weld worth a **** and cant focus your heat on the lug then i guess you could destroy your rim.

Id just get some jbweld, no worries of splatter, and that stuff is pretty strong. Grind away the chrome on the lug nut and make a nice flat surface and jbweld a nut on, they should come off super easy, unless you of course didnt follow the 80ftlbs rec. torque.

Use a torch. Thats what I would do, if you can't burn a nut off a stud then you need major practice, as for the rims who cares, buy new ones.

For sake of arguement, how many thieves going to walk around with a miller welder to jack rims??? u think someone wont notice the extremely bright light??? and JBWELD takes almost 8 hours to cure... unless the car owner on vacation, i dont think any of our answers have created an epidemic of rim theft.

I'm sure I could fit a big power inverter and a little welder in my Civic... And some people work 12 hour shifts at work, and someone could relatively easily JB Weld a nut on a lug, come back 8 hours later and jack someone's rims.

agreeeeeed.haha. most thieves will spend hours scoping out a car anyways so waiting the 8 im sure wouldnt be too much of a problem. hey they can go get lunch while the jb weld cures! they could make a day of it!lol

I had the same problem and took it to Honda and they had a a set of tools that looked like a bunch of sockets and just hammered the one which had the tightest fit and took it off
