How much would you expect to pay for a 92-95 hatch w/no engine/trans?
I'm new to civics and I was wondering what you would expect to pay for a 92-95 hatch w/no engine/trans. Also, would it be a good idea to look in junk yards. I want to spend less than $2000, could I get a decent one for that?
I plan on selling my 4th gen prelude, it is just too big to ever be fast enough. I'll use the money from that to pay for a swap.
EDIT: P.S. What does the EG in "EG+ Civic / Del Sol" stand for? I know that's probably the dumbest question you have heard.

$2000 should be plenty for that year with no engine or tranny... But you could problaby buy one with everything in it for that price or a little more if you look hard enough.

Thanks guys, that helps. My friend and I want to go out and look for some in junk yards this weekend. Im not sure what to expect, so I may end up trying to find one for sale buy owner, but I'm not sure if there are many out there being offered with no/engine or blown engine.

Re: (1FakeAssSI)
Hell i got my 94 coupe shell with:
Drive shaft stage 4 axles
apexi full coilover suspension
Intagra GSR brakes with new pads
ITR seats
fresh silver paint from integra
CTR tach
and more
all for 2500
hell there is way over 2500 in mods in the car. you can find a shell for under 1500 i am sure. Take the time to shop around, dont just buy the first thing you see.

it loosely represents all 92-95 civic's.. however, unless you hae a Del Sol(and another model not sure which) or authentic JDM civic it isn't present in the VIN.
you should be able to find a hatch shell for under $2k easily.. I got my 92 DX for $1400 in running condition. so if you look hard enough, you might be able to find a clean unmolested running hatch for $2k.

You can get a very nice shell for that price, i found a hatch back shell about a month ago, with GSR wheels, Ground Control coilovers, Vision Corners, and a full lip kit for $2150 , just gotta look hard

Re: (romeirome1)
This last week my friends and I picked up 2 project civics if you want an idea of prices we've found:
$55: salvage title 92 vx, almost completely stipped interior (no dash, no body panels, a few trim pieces and 1 seat, e-vtec d-series engine and tranny (not hooked up but mounted), no driver's side window, imaculate paint save for primered front fenders (repainted in 2001)
$440: 92 cx, needs fuel pump and to install gas tank (sitting in back of car), fender rust, and a few golf ball sized dents in the hood, other than that its in average condition for a 12 yr old car. Price also included a door, cat-back stock exhaust seats, and all interior panels for a 2nd gen integra, an EG AC pump and condenser
