How much to pay for '92 EG hatch shell?
Got a buddy said he'd sell me his '92 EG hatch shell for $1,500. He was using it for parts, so everything he took was replaced with stock stuff from his current ride. Here are the details of what he removed (everything else I assume is relatively stock):
Still has "WRX White paint, with black roof" -- "paint is nice but clear needs some work"
Had CF hood, which he swapped for his red hood
Took smoked corners
Took guage cluster
Took front strut brace (no rear strut brace)
Took Integra front seats, replaced with his vinyl seats
Took the duckbill spoiler
Empty engine bay -- no engine, tranny, radiator, shift linkage, etc.; wiring harness from the shock tower to the dash/ECu is still there tho.
No carpet (I don't know if there is SOME carpet, but he said "no carpet")
Stock wheels, painted white.
Still has ITR fuel pump and teggy throttle cable
Still has JDM fenders with sidemarkers too
I'm looking for a project car, so the up side is that I basically get to start from scratch and do things my way. Dents and dings were taken care of with the paint, so it's got a clean body. Down side, I don't really have any parts to sell to help pay for necessities (i.e., engine, tranny, etc). What are you guys' thoughts? Worth $1,500? More? Less?

I would not pay 1500 for that. No way. I would def pay 1500 if it still had all those parts he took off, but not like it is. I would def go under a 1000. Sure it has nice paint, but a 92 shell with A LOT missing..

like i said, everything he took off (with the exception of the front strut brace) was replaced by factory stuff he already had on his other hatch (he's got an EH2 hatch).

I bought a 95 coupe shell for $1500 a few months back. Just to give you an idea here is what it came with: halo head lights, euro tails, 17" motegi wheels with brand new cooper tires. Professionally tinted windows and H&R springs. Plus I got all of the stock parts with it. Oh and it had a great paint job as well with the only bit of body work needed was pulling 1 dent on the front fender. The ONLY thing I had to do was pull the blown engine and drop in a new one (which I got a D15 for $300) and after a few days work I had a good looking, running car for $1800.
As you can tell you're going to regret spending that much on a stock car that isn't even drivable..project car or not.

LOL. Yeah, I don't think he actually had it on the market. I was just talking to him about a teg I was looking at getting, and he offered that up. He's got a '92 (I think) EH2 that he was going to swap all his parts into the EG shell. I think he just pulled $1,500 out of his ***. He told me to look around on here and let him know what other people were selling for. I'll link him to this thread.

i bought a 91 hatch shell(i know not an EG) for 500 bucks, it came with autometer tach, sparco seat, 4pt harness, fuel cell, stainless braided fuel line, mallory fuel pump, aeromotive fpr, radiator, cf hood, skunk2 short shifter, and full interior
never should have sold it
but i did sell alot of the parts off of it, then sold the shell for 600 bucks!

Hot damn! What a steal. He did something similar. Paid more than that for the shell and all tho. But he just kept the goodies. . I think once the market gets better, if I don't buy his shell, he is just swapping his EH2 stuff into the EG shell (literally, everything -- turning the EH2 into a shell).
Anyway, thanks for your help, guys!! You've given me a lot of insight.

Yeah, I don't think it needs repeating, as the general consensus is that's WAY too much. But f that haha. That's no friend and certainly no deal. $500 tops.

lol. "i don't think this needs repeating, but **repeats everyone else**". nah, he wasn't really looking to sell it, but if he could get $1,500 for it, he would part with it. already talked to him. he and i both know he doesnt wanna sell it for the "fair market value", and have both agreed that if i really wanted one, that i should look for someone that is openly selling it. he isnt actually trying to sell it.
but thanks for the info, guys! i'll keep my eyes peeled for any deals. happy shopping!

i bought my hatch for $2500 and i came with...
-Dark blue color interior
-Recaro Knock off driver Seat black
-Stock Blue Rear seats and pass seat
-Center console with the armrest
interior is very clean and in good shape
Suspension
-Yonaka Full Coilovers with tein 12/14k springs
-ST swaybar kit
-Acura integra GSR disc brakes all around
-Skunk2 front camber kit
-Energy suspension bushings everywhere
-Rota circuit 8 wheels 16x7 with Toyo Proxxes 4's 205/45/16
Exterior
Paint is in very good shape just wetsanded and buffed it very shiny will take more pics of exterior when i pull the motor
the 1/4 panels have a couple small bubbles in the paint where the rust might be coming back but would be an easy fix if taken care of soon the panels where repaired correctly with all metal but the climate around here just isn't very good
car has a few small scratches 1 on the 1/4 and a few on the front bumper rest of the body is immaculate.
