How much is my car worth? (swapped 97 HB)
I'm thinking about selling my car and I'd like to know what everyone thinks it is worth.
1997 Honda Civic HB - 192K on car
97 JDM ITR swap with ~ 70k miles on it
JDM 4-1 Header
Spoon Engine Mounts
Spoon Thermo and fan switch
Fluidyne Radiator
Exedy Stage 1 clutch and 9 lb flywheel -- Just installed in 2-06
New plugs, wires, cap rotor, timing belt all done at same time of clutch.
Buddy club spec III exhaust and omnipower test pipe -- About 2 months old
Power Enterprise Vtec and A/F controller with tach
Body is stock but needs painted, clear coat is coming off and needs a headliner.
I have some pics but don't know how to load them.
Interior:
Nothing special, prelude seats is about it
ICE:
Pioneer Head Unit about a year old
Polk speakers front and rear, no sub
Basically, just picture a stock EK hatch that needs painted and has this swap. I seen one of these go for $2100 last week with the stock engine and 250K on the odometer with bad paint also. Just curious to see what everyone thinks it might be worth. I have a number in my head that I won't let it go for less than, need to pay off some bills and put money back for a house. Thanks for your opinions.
* Not interested in selling parts individually

Re: How much is my car worth? (spoonek9)
Mark said the same thing...sell the Scion... It only has 8k on it though and I do like the car, it's just a turd. I love the civic, don't get me wrong. I just don't want to be living where I'm at for the next few years so I want to pay off bills quick.
Any resonable offers?

That's why I drive a '91 Integra with over 200k miles on it.

I thought about that. Truth is I way overpaid for the TC. Got the options I wanted yada yada. It was my first new car. I make good money and at the time it seemed like a good idea. It wasn't though.
The only option I see about getting rid of the TC would be to trade it in on a new car and whatever they didn't pay have tacked on to the new loan, which would only slightly drop my payment on a cheaper vehicle. If there are other options, I'm all ears. I'm not the greatest with money. I need to start saving for a house. I'm tired of living with people!
Thanks for the opinions and suggestions! Keep em coming!

You should take your golf game pro! That should reel in some money.

Trading in a nearly brand new car is like bending over in a prison shower, you know its a bad deal for you so why do it. If you wanna get rid of a car, sell it privately, I would NEVER trade in a spanking car. Now car dealers do have offers, where you can trade in ANY car that drives and they'll give ya like 3k trade in for it towards a new car (thats ok with me)

That's about what I was expecting. Somewhere around 5-5.5 I don't expect to get all my money back. You never do, but I'd like to try for $5500.

I'd consider that if I had a place to do it. I don't though.
If someone could pm with how to do it I'll post pics of the car so everyone has a better idea.

I still say keep the hatch.
I've seen used tCs going for OVER 17k.
People are ******* tools. If you really want to get rid of it, you stand a VERY good chance of just about breaking even on it.

Send me the pics and I'll load them for you. I still don't understand why you would sell a car you love just to keep a car you like!

No I don't have the original engine. My friend has one though and I did think about doing it that way. Still tossing ideas around.

Re: How much is my car worth? (97mini-me)
you would be getting robbed selling that for $5,500. that swap alone is worth 4,000. the shell is worth bout 1,000 (w/o motor). Sell your exhaust to some local and add 200 to the price of the swap for the spoon mounts. Bad idea anyway you look at it.
