why not do it yourself and save the money for upgrades, its really not hard. And it depends on what your talking about. Which b16, what shape is the motor in, etc.

Yeah, give some details. There's a shop about 40 mins from my town that does b16 swaps for around $350 I've heard of some that'll do it for $200 and beer.

I got gen 1 B16A complete engine, tranny, PWO ECU, Axles, Knuckles, shift linkage, motor mounts for an EF, complete wiring harness and some misc extras.
Also had AEM cam gears on it and a mint aftermarket clutch.
Paid 800.00 plus 300.00 to ship from San Diego to New Mexico. And I got to see it running in march.
But then I bought a 2000 SI hydro tranny with LSD for 850.00 shipped sooooooooo.

Don't spend any more htan 4k on a B16 tranny + installation, that's way too much...although I'd still recommend doing it yourself, it's easier than you may think, one day is all it takes if you've never done it before...

I found a b16 with tranny, shift linkage, axles, ecu, and wiring harness for 1200 bucks. I'm prolly going to pick it up, then do an auto/manual conversion. then have some fun.
from what I've seen in the past few years on the boards, you can get them for 1-3k, and installed, anywhere between 1.2-4k just depends on who you go to, their reliability, their name, if they're busy, what they charge, and what area you'rue in

I would go poor man's type-r and install it myself. I don't know **** about engine swapping and I'm confident I could do the changeover myself. Maybe a few friends and a hydrolic lift to move the motor.

I am sure you can get this done cheaper but I only buy new honda and acura parts, so consider this an extreme
jdm b16a Engine Tranny ECU (170hp LSD low miles) hmotorsonline shipped- $2400
reused three upper mounts -$0
new rear bracket -$85
new torque mount bracket r/f -$85
koyo dual core radiator -$200
upper and lower radiator hoses- $70
throttle cable- $50
