Default how much fuel psi should i be running?

i've just bought a fuel pressure regulator. how much psi is safe for an d16z with basic i/e. right now im about 38 psi at idle and gets up to around 43-45 psi when i open the throttle. i heard in the haynes manual thet you shouldnt go higher than 10% than the stock pressure. ex: if stock was 50 psi, cant go over 55 psi. how much psi is safe?

Why needlessly increase your fuel pressure? Most you'll accomplish is making your motor run rich.

But I dont know your stock fuel pressure. :\

would having a air/fuel gauge and making some 10-50 mph runs help as far as setting a psi that wouldn't make the motor run rich help? just curious. i mean it wouldn't beat a vafc and some dyno time, but would it help? i've been thinkin about a fuel pressure regulator.

make it 40psi at idle. you dont have enough mods to play with ur fuel yet and see results

yeah when i adjust it a little higher maybe 40 psi it seems to lag a little in the lower rpm. i felt more power with about 38 psi. maybe my egine doesnt need too much fuel.

Fuel delivery hasn't been much of a problem in the history of N/A cars. Its air. I doubt you need more fuel.

I was running 44psi at idle on a heavily modded N/A motor. For a close to factory motor 40psi is plenty especially for a smaller D series motor.

The only way to properly tune however is using a wideband O2 sensor on a dyno.
