Myself and many other Road Race guys used custom built Gator Axles. The "custom" part of the axle is a special vent tubing installed so the boots don't explose from heat.

How much was it?
Just looking for how many ppl run stage 1's for motor swap axles.

I have a set of DSS. I got them on ebay directly from the company. 1 month later, they both crunch in turns 
. In that time I never gave them any abuse.

Honestly, I don't remember exactly because of the number of axles I've bought/rebuilt over the years. Just give them a call or check out their website.
