Crank fluctuation sensor code 54???
Ok, I am throwing a code 54 which is the crank fluctuation sensor. Is there any way to test the sensor? and How much is the new sensor going to cost? TIA!

Re: Crank fluctuation sensor code 54??? (saywhat)
Alright I tested the sensor it is good, it is reading around 2 k ohms, is there a fuse anywhere that I can check to see if it is bad? This is an EK. Thanks

you also need to see if there is any output from it.
unplug the sensor, set your volt meter to AC, unplug the dizzy and crank it.
you should be able to read AC volts while cranking. as for the sensor it is aroung 200 if i remember correctly.

Re: Crank fluctuation sensor code 54??? (saywhat)
i threw a code for crank shaft position sensor the other day, idk if this is the same thing?
but i check the sensor and the code never came back so maybe it was just loose connection. check your sensor out see what it looks like

It's most likely just a loose connection, as someone already stated. I was throwing the same code and it just so happened that when I was messing around down there, I knocked the sensor loose. Plug it back it and/or check the wiring, reset the ECU and you should be fine.

Re: Crank fluctuation sensor code 54??? (Metal Gear Soundbomber)
damn alternator belt just stripped mine too, and I'm throwing the same code now.
Metal Gear Soundbomber: mine has just started to strip (hard to tell the real damage) but if a simple electrical tape patch cant fix it, is a it an easy job to replace it like go buy it in an autostore and unplug the wires and plug the new wires deal or it's more like a PITA deal.? thx
