How to improve my Civic EX ?
Hi Honda owners
I have a 96 civic EX with a SOHC Vtec 1.6L i was wondering how to improve the motor and any trick or tip's that you might have? Thank you
stuff the car has now:
cold air intake
AEM fuel rail
Airpass header
H bar
AEM sway bar on top of the engine
sway on the back tires
high flow cav
4"tip 2"pipe muffler system
grounding cables
Bosch cables and Platinum+4
Nuespeed springs
KYB AGX struts

Ditch the Bosch Ignition Wires and Bosch Platinum + 4 Spark plugs. Get yourself some NGK Ignition Wires and NGK V-Power Spark Plugs.
Ditch the muffler fart can and get yourself a REAL catback exhaust. Good deals on http://www.kteller.com
Depends on what route you want to take. IMO, put together a home made turbo system.

Unless you are thinking on spending A LOT of money on an all-motor build, go forced induction.

Re: (Dimi)
I like your car, hehe
I agree with Dimi, I would go with forced induction...
If money is not really that tight, i would purchase a turbo kit. the Greddy turbo kits seem to be real popular for our car...but look into it and see what your interested in.
If money is tight i would go with what Dimi said and piece together a turbo kit which is fairly cheaper...go to that link also

Yah doing stuff to the ignition does nothing.
Check out this website.
http://www.ericksracing.com/racecar.htm
This car runs 9.99 in the 1/4 Mile All Motor
When you look the specs note this : "Ignition system: stock"

Forced induction would be the best bang for the buck for you 1.6l SOHC VTEC. BTW, what is a sway on your back tires? Do you mean rear sway bar?

I hope that crap came on your car when you got it, for the price of all that you could have a turbo, or at least close to it. It's a nice car, tirdbo it and you'll be good to go. Forget the swap idea that some people will try to bring up, turbo will be easier to install and faster.

Get replacement axles like some remanufactured ones from your local auto parts store. If you plan on making some serious horsepower sometime in the future, look into some Gator racing axles.
