how to get TDC on D15B7?
Anyone have a link on how to get to TDC on a D15B7 motor? I have removed the head already because Im replacing the belts, water pump, front oil seal, head gasket, and had to get a broken plug out of the head.
I THOUGHT I had it TDC when I took the head off, but now Im not so sure. The manual Im using said to make sure cylinder 1 is TDC and mark the distributor, but didnt mention the cam gear and its position. So I removed it with the cam gear pointing DOWN instead of pointing UP. I DID NOT remove the cam, valvetrain or gear from the head, so its the same as when I took it off. Im guessing I can rotate the crank until cylinder 1 is TDC again, and then rotate the cam gear and distributor 180 degrees and it will be TDC still. I think I might have made it TDC on the intake stroke rather than the exhaust stroke, but I dont know for sure.
This is my first attempt at anything this involved so try not to flame too much. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you, thats a lot like the diagram Im using but not as confusing. So the distributor doesnt really matter then because it can only go on the cam one way right? Also, isnt there a difference in TDC, one is on the exhaust stroke, the other on the intake stroke? How does that come into play? Or am I just confused on that part.
