How to get more power from my D16?
I have a 1998 Civic CX and I want just a little more power from my stock D16Y7. I only want to spend like $150 or less at this point because I am saving for rims and tires. I have heard about relocating the intake temp. sensor away from the block to trick the ECU but what else? I was thinking about having my cam reground but I am unsure. Also, hopefully...after this December I will have access to a full machine shop. Including a 3 axis CNC vertical milling machine. Any Ideas?

YOu are going to want to spend more than $150 thats for sure. maybe find something used on craigslist but its deff more than $150 lol. these are not 350 sbc where forged pistons are 40 a piece.
some basic bolt on you could look for is a new:
intake-blox might make something
header-megan header
exhaust-whatever floats your boat in this catagory. i run a dc sports.
want to go alittle crazier
chip the ecu and have someone tune you car with a nicer cam with duel valve springs.
google is your best friend

you might be able to find a vtec head to slap on there for about 150. but you'll wanna get new waterpump, cam seal, timing belt, crank seal. just so you don't have to do it later and because you'll be there anyway.

as everyone said, depending how much power you want, boost is good, but id go with what anon51 said, and start by getting a vtec head first. be a little more that $150, but should give you a little bump in power.

Re: How to get more power from my D16?
I was planning on doing a swap in the future. I only want to spend 150 because as I said, I am buying rims and tires and already have a sway bar, tokico illuminas, and a rear disk swap. I am trying to focus on things that will carry over if i do an engine swap and that is basically the suspension but I was wondering if there were any cheap things I could do to just have a small increase in power.

dont waste youre time with 150. you could spend it on bolt on's but it would'nt make enough of the difference compared to money spent.
Like it was said before, save up and get a vtec head. If thats too much, get a vtec intake maifold( y8 or z6 ) and a y8 header. This should be around 150 combined if you look around. They have the best flow for d16s and will help you make more power in the future.

best bank for your buck in nitrous hahah, but im sure you dont wanna do that. go with a mini me swap and when you re surface the head have them take a bit off to boost your cr a bit higher. i picked up my head, dizzy, IM and ecu for like 170ish when i did mine. was surprisingly a good motor but i always felt like the dx tranny held me back.

Put the 150 towards a turbo, and not a cheap china turbo. There are some people who have had luck with them, but a used Garret and a rebuild kit would be a wiser move.
