Default how to get hoses off the engine?

Ok, I have B16A engine and all hoses are badly stuck. What would be the best way to take them off?

use a box cutter or razor blade and slice the hose on the fitting.

Grip them with a pair of pliers then move the pliers side to side until you can feel that the hose is loosened then pull the hose off. It wouldnt be a bad idea to mark where the hose goes back on with some tape if you plan on removing more then one hose. That way you wont be confused.
