Re: How do you guys do it? (COLORPROS)
I work a full time job, 40 hours a week plus, make like 1200 a month after taxes, I'm 20, live at home, and I have a very understanding GF that loves my car and rather just go back to my place watch a movie...hehe..
I save and save, use credit cards, and pay them off at the end of the month, build credit, and a car, and yes cut backs is the key!!

Investment? So if I give you 10Gs to put into your car what kind or return can I expect?

Re: How do you guys do it? (SlowCivicHmm)
Work a 45+ hour a week job and spend my remaining sleep time working on my car or others' cars. I keep alot of diesel trucks running down the road. Spend time developing state of the art engine systems. (EVRT turbos, camless, etc.)
I also do this because I love it, even at the expense of a social life and pissing off my GF.......**** happens deal with it
Sometimes I make CF parts to drum up some extra cash.

WTF are doing doing still living at home when you make 42K?! Dayum, I was living on my own (well, my ex-gf and I got a place) when I was just in the twenties! Lucky!
I work full time as a systems/network engineer, but I also got some cash in an insurance settlement almost two years ago after I broke my arm. However a lot of that has gone to paying off debts and living expenses. Plus, my other vice...nice electronics and games!!

my story is, im 25 full time job. $60,000 plus a year, wife is a doctor, and pay cash for everything. Never go in debt to be cool, always think 5-10 years in advance. You may have a cool car but when you can't feed your family it's time to prioritize..........

Re: (THE B)
Took a small loan out for my 93 SI. Owe $1900 more on it. Paying it off in the next few week.
Took a loan out for my R motor (worst mistake I ever made). Still paying it off. (Have a little more to go).
Every mod was paid for in cash.
93 Civic CX paid for in cash.
JDM B16A2 w/lsd being paid for in cash in 2 weeks.

I live in a cardboard box on the north shore with some local hawaiians.
I get money to fix my EK up by catching fish and selling them to tourists.

How old is your wife? How are you defining "doctor"?
I pay for my stuff by working, I graduated last year and make what I consider to be pretty good money. I spend an average of 1k/month on the car, pay all my bills including student loans, and kick it in a nice place in the suburbs of DC. I still put some money away in the bank.
If you're young, I'll just say bust your *** in school. Not trying to sound like a dad, but I'm 22 and making well over 65k/year, plus overtime that I can work up to 15 hours/week. Print out an ad of a car you want (ferrari, etc) or a big house and put it up over your desk. Look at it everytime you don't feel like doing anything. Its worth it.

Re: (trbob16a)
she's 26, has her ba and honers in kinesiology, masters and phd in Occupational therapy. Lucky for me I scored a job out of highschool and worked my way up, for her it was a long road of school almost 8 years, but it's paying of for both of us. My slogan that keeps me going is "make a dollar a minute, and don't sit down".......... anymore questions?

Re: How do you guys do it? (slowsi00)
I work full time 50 hours a week. And I really don't make over $2000 a month!
The ways that I save money is:
*bring lunch to work
*I won't buy any clothing that's over $20
*live at home
*shop wisely
*do side jobs
*do anything that will make money!
