if you convert a ecu to manual, there is a high side switch that's leftover on a P06 or P28 that can be used for a vtec conversion on another ecu. IC14 is needed for vtec, anywhere else it's just exta.

there's 2 of them actually but they need to come from a '94 - '95 (IPT board) P06/P28
