how do i tell the diff btw a d16z6 head and a d15z1 head?
i got a problem with my car reving wrong around 3000+ rpm and was told to check out my timing. i haven't done this yet, but when i was looking through the service manual about the timing i did notice that the d15z1 (vtec-e) motor have a crossover at 3000 rpm. i suspect that the head on my car could be from a d15z1 motor (don't even know if its possible or not ) but the person that pulled the motor for us was an untrustworthy person (which we found out later, stole parts from us ) so there is a chance that he could of switched it or something. the block says d16z6 but i don't know how to check out the head. help me out guys. some pics for me to compare to would be great. i hope i'm just thinking too much into it, and its just the timing that needs to be adjusted

look above the #3 exhaust port on the front of the head. if it says po8, it's a z6. if it says po7, its a z1 head. here's a list of all the sohc vtec heads so you can figure out what you have exactly...
