even if you stamp it, itll look kinda obvious that you did, just make sure all sensors are hooked up, and the motors not running like **** and im pretty sure youll pass

I doubt they will even question a SOHC motor in your hatch. Its a different story if you had a B18C in your hatcback.
I ran into the same concern when re-registering my car with a JDM B20B. Its not so much a problem because Integras come with DOHC, stock.

So if the copper in question pulls someone over he can tell if the block is stolen or not. Think about it, why would he ask about changing blocks AND where the races are at? If he is not a cop then he is a complete idiot.

You don't need to restamp the block to pass smog. I am a smog tech, and I rarely even look at the block #. If your car came with a single cam, and you have a single cam in there, don't worry. Just make sure that all of the required emission control devices are installed and functioning.

If a copper questions you about a block code and you have no way signifying what year and model it came from, he has EVERY reason to confiscate your car until you can prove it is legit. Good luck doing so since you shaved off your block code.
I heard of a guy with a RHD clip on a 99-00 Si chassis. Through what Ive been told, his car has been under police posession for over a year now. He has NO proof showing the car or motor is legit, since it came from a JDM CTR.

Stolen and illegal are synonymous with each other. How do they know if its stolen or LEGIT? They dont, thats why they have it in THEIR possession until proven LEGIT.

Most smog techs won't notice a different engine. They trip over in intake and a header more than anything else. I have smogged my old 93 coupe that had a B16 as a regular civic at a test only station too. I just went in asked how much for the smog test. The guy said $40 so I said cool. He did not say anything about the motor. He did not even notice it was a different engine.

in the US, we are innocent till proven guilty. cops must have probable cause to do anything;search, posses, etc. wait a minute, i think i got reality backwards and its actually guilty and you must prove your innocence...cops need help LOL

i cant image a cop looking at your engine and thinking.."hmm, that looks like a jdm engine, i wonder what the engine code is..." Would they even know what the stock code is supposed to be? probably not. I assume car enthusiastic cops are in to domestics anyway.

you have a point. my hommie was at the Long Beach races and got pulled over. the copper made him pop the hood. he looked and said wow! everything is stock! get outta here and go home before we give you a curfew ticket! the funny thing is my hommie's car is a crx with a b16 with a polished silver cover. what a luckyass! as for the cop, what a dumbass!

since were on the topic, under what conditions are the cops allowed to ask to open the hood? im afraid theywill ask me and i have a turbo kit . if i get busted with it, what would they do?
it would suck to get a fix-it-ticket for modified intake when you have a turbo.
