alright i d this everyday at my job...first..you fill up the tire with 45-50 lbs of air..then use a drill and as soon as you take out the nail. use a semi small (1/8") bit to drill out the hole a little bigger...there is an actual tire drill bit you could get which i use but i assume a bit would be fine...then after drillng alittle the air will be coming out and you should alread have the plug (strip piece) threaded through the needle thing..halfway so each end is equilength...then pull out the drill and shove the plug in the hole, but not all the way, leave about 1/4 - 1/2 " sticking out of the hole, you have to push slowly BTW...then yank that needle piece out really really fast and ur done...

EDIT: oh ****.. you have the tire bit.....ok instead of a drill forget all that...take the tool thats on the bottom right of the pic...the rough one(whichever is smaller if you have 2)..and after you pull the nail stick that in and twist it all around really good...then pull that out and put the threaded needle one in and follow the rest of my previous instructions

Just take the tool that is like a file, file the hole good. Soak the worm in the glue that came with the kit. Put the worm on the hook tool. Put the took in the hole and do about a 1/4 turn and it should come off. and in the hole. Cut off most of what is hanging out of the whole. The rest should wear down over time.

Just follow the instructions I said. Of course the tire will be flat. And I'd suggest you soak it in glue just to be safe.

You don't. I would not even bother with plug style tire repair kits. You would be better off taking your flat tire to a tire shop that uses internal patches. You in CA...there should be a Discount Tire Store near you. Plus they will do the repair for free. Just a suggestion.

I've repaired more tires than I can count....the external plugs won't work for crap after a short time driving on the tires.

Is that so?
Well in my experience external tire plugs can cause premature belt separations. I'll bet you can ask anyone who has worked as a tire tech; how many flat tires they have repaired that came in leaking around external tire plugs.....I'm gonna bet you will get a high number.

Plugs rule.

never had a problem using plugs for emergencies, left them on and they are now considered "permanent" repairs.

Again, this is why I work on my own car and keep others from touching it.

i worked at penske before and i liek the plug and patch that they use its a lil rubber patch disc with a plug you clean the area apply the gue stick the plug trough fromt he inside pull it tight and roll it with the sealer..good to go! way easier to do than a plug..well unless you cant find a tire machine then you suckin

why waste blood and sweat when its free, a whole lot safer, and they even check if theres leaks. they have a big bin of water and they dunk the tire in to check. patch lasts longer than some plug would too.
