how to change stock head lights 92 hatch EG
i don't really know where to write this. i did some search on this forum but only found light bulbs. i thought this would fit my question more since it is under CRX and EF. can somebody tell me how to remove them stock 92 civic hatch head lights? do i have to remove the front bumper as well? if so how can i remove that? i order a pair of head lights and they arrived today, so i'm looking to change the old ones. thanks.

Wrong forum to start with. Try a service manual to show the location of the factory mounting bolts. I would not recommend replacing unless the new lights are oem but then again what do I know. Im not a doctor or a ricer

Re: how to change stock head lights 92 hatch EG
The 92+ is nothing like 88-91' Hondas... You should have put this in the OBVIOUS section of 92-00' forum...
There should be a couple bolts for the housing on top and the bottom just has tabs going into the brackets...

Re: how to change stock head lights 92 hatch EG
i took the housing screws top off on both side of head lights, took 4 screws on the frnt bumper off, and took 4 screws underneath the front bumper off as well. the side screws are missing and is not even there when i bought the car. the bumper is not coming down. it seems to me like the sides (where the front bumper and side fender meet) are stick together, but the screws are not there. anybody know what's going on? still, there are a few number of sockets underneath the bumper that i didn't take them out. i only take out the 4 silver screw. do i need to take them socket out too? or are they only for the lip?

Sounds terrible!
Have you tried taking the hood off and then both doors and front fenders?
I think that's what you need to do.
... but then again this is the 88~91 forum and I have no clue what to do with a 92.

YEAH! The trunk wouldn't be such a bad idea.
Then you might get a straight shot at the back of the bolts where they screw in.
Or you could just post your question in the correct forum for 92~95 vehicles.

bump!
i don't know if this is normal but the area where the bumper and the fender meet, it just seems like they are glue together. the inner screw are missing so that shouldn't be a problem for the bumper to come off, however, it doesn't. am i missing something? not really a tech guy so guys throw some advices plsss..

lol, this poor guy...
check my DIY thread, the second? pic shows where all your bolts are, there is no need to remove the bumper, you can manuever it out with it on. I've done it like 10 times

you actually do not need to remove the entire front bumper, if you can get the front top screws out, (where the hood touches the bumper) you should be able to get the bumper to lean forward just enough to allow you to remove the bolts holding the lower headlight assembly in place.

no they from this one website. not ebay. they are the black housing crystal head lights with amber corners. it is for civic coupe/hatchback 92-95. they shouldn't be a problem at all. here is a picture of the headlights:
http://reviews.turbometal.com/1992-1...al-headlights/
you will see those two silver hanging clip on top of the head lights, they don't even match the holes that are under the hood. by that i mean when i put them on, they are slanted off the stock holes that the screws suppose to go in. looks like i have to drill new holes? LOL. even if that was fixed, there's also there's an huge gap underneath between the headlights and the front bumper, and doesn't even fit evenly. i try to push the front bumper up so that it would fit but it can't go any further. i don't know? maybe i aim doing something wrong.

OEM headlights are better than any aftermarket. The only time aftermarket is better is if going HID, which is usually illegal to begin with, but the aftermarket ones don't have the ridges.
If replacing cracked or just broken lights, there is a screw or bolt on the corner light, then the two on top the headlight, and one at the base of the light, more towards the center of the radiator support. If you look at the replacement lights, there should be a little post. Also, you may have to push the bumper down a little or tweak the headlight up to get it out.

Re: how to change stock head lights 92 hatch EG
the red arrow here shows where the screws suppose to go. here you can see they are off.
http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...headlights.jpg
i don't see how i put it in the wrong way, because the screw on the left of the head lights (red arrow) is where the screw go in and it fits there perfectly. the screw is in the center of that hole:
http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...eadlights2.jpg
i managed to fit the clippers into the holes. i would have to turn a little to fit it in.
http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...eadlights4.jpg
but the screw to the left of the head lights would have to come out a little bit and therefore wouldn't be in the center. also the bottom end would leave a gap:

can somebody give me an critique of what i did wrong or how to do it right. i really appreciate it, thanks.

Return them. They claim to have a 100% guarantee. It's obvious these are substandard trash items. But what do you expect for $115?

Re: how to change stock head lights 92 hatch EG
i call their customer service and send them some photos comparing the stock headlights with the one i bought from them and they told me it should fit. they say if it doesn't i can just return it and have my full refund back. this is messed up. waste my time.

Here are OEM USDM Headlights, H4 Bulbs, Glass lense, and notice the dimples
Here are OEM JDM Headlights, H4H Bulbs, Plastic Lense, City Lights, No dimples
Your generic ebay "JDM" Style headlights, cheap, plastic, poor fitment, nothing like the JDM versions they are copying.
and what mine look like from my DIY that I suggested if you want black housing headlights. OEM, functional, perfect fitment, zero problems
