How can i do this?
Hi, I just recently aquired my license and also got a '95 del sol VTECH which i think comes with the b16 motor. I want to convert it to rwd(rear wheel drive) so that i can drift it. What would i need to do this? My dad just bought me a jack so that i can do it in the driveway. Thanks

haha funny. well, its VTEC, not VTECH.
you're going to need a lot of money and fabrication, but here's two threads for inspiration.

the best advice that you will ever get is: keep your mind in school, instead of on cars.

oh man...its gonna cost you more than your car....just get a 240sx or 86-87 corolla gt-s and go drift or learn how to drive your front wheel drive delsol.

i like how the roof comes off, i dont like having to get out of the car to put the roof in the trunk so im also thinking about making a mechanism that takes the roof off and puts it in the trunk automatically.
i like my del sol better than those cars mostly because of the VTECH, when it turns on it chirps the wheels, its really fun

hey buddy, your best bet is the following...... sell the civic, buy yourself a Nissan 240SX and build it up. Hondas are not meant to be drifted. There this one japanese guy that drifts an S2000, but I dont think you will ever match his skills.
read Honda Tuning. I think you were just joking........... nice try though.

in japan and europe, there were Del Sol's that came with a Transtop (automatic targa top).
remember now, its VTEC, not VTECH.
if you plan on staying here, read the forum Rules and Guidelines before you do anything else.

and the most important part of being in H-T, Search (top right corner). learn to use it.

uh dude, stop talking and asking questions. just search and read.
just letting you know, VTEC and FWD aren't as good as you think they are.

no NO NO....
when you have an 240sx you need an SR20DET engine from an JDM silvia which make 240-250hp.

Re: How can i do this? (DOHC_VTECH)
For most intents and purposes, with Hondas, actaully, with most cars in general, you CAN'T just put a engine in the back. This guy did it with a LOT of time, lot of custom work, and it would ALL be custom work. It would be smarter and cheaper probably, to get a CR-V engine in there (a 4wd model) and then you only have to cut driveshafts and CVs, and still need frame work, but not a total "im gonna build my own framework". Or maybe take the whole driveline from a CRV or S2000. If you have the resources, anything is possible, so yes you can convert, but its a **** of a lot cheaper to buy another car. the s2000 CAN drift, not well, but with enough work it will.

Re: (DOHC4life)
Why are you guys so mean? I thought this was a real street racer website I called up a local shop that said he could get me a nsx type r engine from japan, put it in the trunk of my del sol and run at max 10psi with stock internals guarenteed to run 8's in the 1/8 mile! for only $5000
