Honda OE powersteering fluid?

Default Honda OE powersteering fluid?

Hey, i was wondering if its ok to run the Non honda genuine power steering fluid from like advanced auto parts? it says its made specially for honda/acura vehicles and i know that hondas require different ps fluid than normall cars? what would you guys recommend.. because i bought the stuff thats not genuine honda and i just want to know if its safe to use?

I always prefer genuine Honda PS fluid, but you shouldn't have a problem running a different brand, as long as the bottle specifically states "For use in Honda/Acura vehicles".

yup "approved for honda" is good enuf. the GM and other brands will eat honda seals. thats why.

OEM Honda fluid isn't that expensive. If you have a dealership near you, its best to use that. Simplest thing to do is just remove it. P/S is overrated.

ahha thanks.. yea i wanted to remove the PS but its more work really.. i mean i know you can loop the system but even that uses a lil fluid.. so but thanks for the help and yes the bottle does say "made specially for use in honda/acura PS systems"

ohh and anyone know exactly how to bleed a P/S system? i just heard you start the car and turn the wheel lock to lock several times?

i rember seeing motorweek on tv when he was talking about how its important to make sure you use specific fluids for specific cars. and one of them was honda ps fluid

My power steering started to leak everywhere the time I used non OEM PS fluid. And it voided the warranty of the car, that sucks!

Stick to OEM honda has a different grade on PS fluid.
