Default Honda Idleling Problem

I have a 1992 Honda Civic DX that lopes while ideling when no-one is around the car. Can you suggest any possible fixes for this problem. I just bought the car for my first car and havent really had any expierance with honda's like i have with other vehicles. Please help me.

clean ur IACV with throttle body cleaner..worked for my CX

ok cleaned out the IACV but when i put it back onto the motor it has the exact same ideling problem..any other ideas?

anyone have any ideas??i was thinking of checking the vacuum lines but i need a detailed description of how to do this so that would also help me.

vacum is easy. look under your hood there should be a sticker on the underside of your hood. it will tell you what you need to know. but about your idleing problem good luck with that. i did everything and replaced everything. nothing worked. i just learned to live with it, or untill i get a new engine. but good luck. oh one more thing try cleaning out your FITV (fast idle thermo valve).

check if your timing is off. You already checked your IACV, so check your trottle body

ok well there is no sticker on the underside of my hood but how do i check the FITV and the throttle body? any special procedures?

1. unclip all of your injector clips, one by one remove the electrical from each injector, if the idle steadies with one you need a new injector. (this happened to me)
2. grab a can of throttle body cleaner, spray all around the intake manifold, if you hear a difference you have a vacuum leak that you need to find and fix (also clean your throttle body while your there.
3. in some older v8 and v6 cars if the o2 sensor was bad this was happened so check that.
lastly check your codes see if anything comes up...

for the FITV...can anyone give me directions to find this and also how to remove it to see if that is the problem

pllugs are wearing fine with no unusual burns or cracks or anything so i assume they are fine...next idea lol
