Just recieved my 98 b20b from hmotorsonline.com I noticed a few parts were missing and was just wondering if they should have came with the motor. The alternator, flywheel is missing. I'm also missing two sensors on the throttle body. The Map sensor and the throttle position sensor. o yea, also came with a cracked valve cover.

Read this: http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/warranty.html
I would say you have the right to expect those parts to be on the engine. At least the sensors and valve cover should be there. They might not agree about the alternator and flywheel though. Personally, I would call and ask.

You probably wont get a flywheel off of a JDM B20B because I believe they only came in automatics in JAPAN. Therefore, in theory, you would only get a torque converter IF that.
Doubt the alternator would come. All that motor is good for is the STRAIGHT LONG BLOCK.

is the throttle body the same on a b20 and an LS? cause normally people swap manifolds and the throttle body when doin a b20 swap, there for those sensors they don't care about....just wonderin not sure though

Shouldn't matter. You buy the motor, no matter what you plan to use it for you should get all parts that come with the motor. They most likely stripped it off so they can replace parts they break during shipping for other customers. I would for sure let them know about the cracked valve cover. You need a new one plus if the engine was man handled and doesn't work right, you have proof it was in bad shape when you got it. Good luck

I bought a Skunk2 manifold. Right now I only have the OBD II P75 LS ECU. Plan to buy the OBDII - OBD I conversion harness as soon as I find a OBDI LS ECU.

Re: HMO B20B missing parts (AllMotorHB)
I give him a call today. He said that non of his JDM b20s come with those two sensors. He reciveves the motors from Japan without those sensors. So I guess I'm gonna have to buy those. I told him about the cracked valve cover and he said he will replace it. I have to ship him the old one and he will ship out another valve cover. Sounds like a reasonable guy to me.

o yea, didn't bother asking him about the flywheel because I just bought one off of Bob-DC2. We were suppose to meet at DSR and I was hours late because I can't find the damn place but he still waited for me. Nice guy I highly recommend doing business with Bob-DC2

right...... Isn't that alittle off topic or is it just me?

Yeah it seems like HMO reputation is starting to go I personally don't buy JDM motors, but my friend bought his second gen B16A longblock from them and got a first gen B16A automatic

yea, ALL b20's are automatics, they're NOT suppose to come w/ an alternator either. i WENT to hmo and unlike their other motor that they pull off front lip, they actually get their b20 from HONDA which surprises me! they have honda tags on them. i bought on and still run it, can't be any happier!

Re: HMO B20B missing parts (nsxmatt)
He was pointing out the JDM B20 was available with the 5-speed and in turn could have come with the flywheel. Some people were saying that it came only in a auto and that's why you didn't get one.
