Default high flowing cat...

anybody have a high flow cat? couple of questions:

-will it pass smog? i have a CAI, headers, and a 2.25 pipe exhaust/muffler
-how are the gains? is it worth it or not?
-what are some names of good brands.
-something that is a direct bolt-on.

highflow cat is pointless unless you are boosted, if NA they make your car sound like **** most, and wont do much performance wise.

^^ so should you stick with the OEM cat when you have a 2.25" header and catback exhaust, isnt that creating a bottleneck with restricted flow in the middle of the system?

not true. High flow cats are good if you have a header and full exhuast. Test pipes or resonators in place of your cat make your car sound like ****, high flow cats aren't so bad. Don't expect much of an HP gain, but you'll gain some on top end.

well i prefer to put on a test pipe than a high flow cat...tried them both on my car and the test pipe is better....test pipe really opens up your top end....but that was in my b16 coupe though...it may be different for dseries motors since they depend more on mid and low range power....

i was wondering this also.. i can get a jdm itr header from my brother and i was wondering how it compare to my dc sports header and test pipe.. i would have to get a custom high flow cat or test pipe.. most likely from kteller.. would it be worth it?
