Re: (Car Tweaker)
It will look cool, but 10k hid's will put out less light than your OEM halogen bulbs.
Blue fogs look queer, because real foglights use yellow light to cut through inclement weather conditions.

headlights are different...
i had a civic and the output blinds oncoming traffic...
i've seen a 96-99 civic with a pnp kit and it looks like a ufo...
so my suggestion is no unless u wanna crash or get a ticket

do you know anything about optics?

Re: (Car Tweaker)
all pnp kits are the same, just get the El Cheapo at least.
They all suck, put out shitty lighting, and the ballasts die within a year.
If you want blue headlights, just get the Phillips Blue Vision from autolamps online. They at least are legal and put out more useable light than HIDs. The same bulb is available in your fog size.
Ricers these days.

you are almost right on the 92-95 which do have the fluted lens. my friend has 8k PnP HIDs on his EJ1, and they are not blinding to anyone since they are aimed properly.
i have the PnP 8k on my EF and they look fine, and i am planning on going with the 6k on my EG soon.

No OEM headlight housings have fluted lenses. They're all non-fluted like the 96-00

You mean they're aimed low? 8k HID's put out less light than a quality halogen bulb.

They look fine to you, but I'm sure If you park your car 15 ft from a wall with the lights on and snap us a picuture anyone who knows anything about HID lighting will laugh at you.
pnp HID's aren't legal in any state in the united states. Even retrofitted kits aren't legal because according to DOT lighting standards all HID kits need to adjust when making turns. Retrofit's Don't do this.

D2s and D2Rs emit lightning differently. </TD></TR></TABLE>
No one mentioned the miniscule differences between the two types of bulbs.
Either way, the lighting it still terrible. I've riddin in several non-retroe'd HID kits and look at many in person. Back when I was really interested in getting pnp kits. The ONLY way to make an HID kit work like oem or put out safe, decent lighting is with a goof projector and a good oem 4300k bulb.

Correct Captain Obvious, but either bulb in a halogen designed housing will glare like crazy.
casper shield or not.

Maybe you need to pull Nasty's **** out of your mouth first and then go do some research yourself. Who in their right mind would even think of putting HID's in Fog Lamps? It does explain it though when you said you want to do it for your "meets". Here is something to think about, 90% of honda enthusiast are male, so the more stupid **** you do to your car for the attention of others the more you are really doing it for the love of the ****.

I've had a Phillips 6000k kit for 3 years. No problems. Excellent cut off, no hot spots, much better lighting than stock halogens.
Why don't you get off the internet once in a while and join the rest of us in the real world.

Re: (JDM-97CX)
I had a pnp kit. It was with phillips bulbs, Mculloch ballasts, and even a casper shield. It was a 6k hid kit, I got worse lighting than my phillips extreme halogen bulb. Everywhere I went at night I had people flash me. I got pulled over twice, once I got ticketed for illegal lighting.
I've had two differen't plug and play kits now, both gave worse lighting than my phillips extreme halogen bulbs.
