HID questions.
Are HID lights brighter than my stock lights when i have my brights on?
If they're about the same why is it that you don't buy one of those "hyperwhite" bulbs and drive around with your brights on?
And lastly how is it legal for you to drive around with big ol' bright-*** HIDs???? they're frikkin blinding!

Well i don't know if they are brighter than you stock light on highbeam, but i read a article in consumer reports that said that HIDs were in fact not that much better than a quality halogen which is a hell of a lot cheaper. They also tested this and they said that the HIDs were blinding in some cars.

Re: HID questions. (Black93DelSolSi)
All opinions based on my old car 01 CL-S
HID is brighter, purer white light - depending on the color temperature
HIDs are only DOT approved if they are original equipment on the car. The reason being is that original equipment HIDs have levelers to deal with changes in weight, etc.. in your car. This keeps the HIDs from being at the wrong angle and blinding oncoming traffic. The biggest advantage to HIDs I had was for long distance night driving.. no tired eyes from the yellowy halogen.
Just my 2c
