HID kit for my 95 civic ex?
hows it going everyone! im new here. i been hooking up vw's all my life and my sister just recently gave me her old 1995 civic ex 4dr. its a great car. my last daily driver was my mkv gti witch had xenon lights.
i was wondering what the best HID kit you guys would recommend to go with the stock headlight housings. not trying to do anything fancy, just want to see the road better(commute mostly during night)
thanks!

Honestly if you don't plan to do a projector retrofit don't bother. My EK came with HID's from the previous owner and the light out put is great, but it's not consistent and spread evenly. Either do the retrofit or get some good quality halogen bulbs.

i've been thinking about buying HID's but i were gonna get some ebay projectors first
i really dont care about how "fine" or properly balanced the light beam is, as long as it has the "cut off" and wont glare oncoming traffic

Agree
They will work, just not the greatest. All the cutoff line is is a thin piece of metal inside the projector. Compared to the stock head lamps it will be a lot better. I can't decide on retrofit or egay headlights and retrofit. I just can't stand the look of the retrofitted EJ/Ek lights. They just look like a someone who did too much coke and can't get their eyes open enough.
you think those projectors that are sold on ebay work well with HIDs?

the projector head lights will work better then stock lights but noithing compared to a good retro fit, check out the retro fit club in the lighting forum.

Re: HID kit for my 95 civic ex?
Not trying to advertise but I recently got a set of HID kit from DDM Tuning.
http://ddmtuning.com/
It's a BMW tuning site, so far they have been working wonderfully at night. I do have the 55w Hi/Lo Kit from DDM Tuning or the so called Apexcone. However the company is in China so the stuff will be from China, I haven't really heard bad things about it yet though.
And about the person above who mentioned TYC projector headlights, that brand is pretty much the same exact design as Sonar from ebay. Their projectors looks pretty good if your not into the JDM scene and works pretty damn bright already with the bulbs they give you. Compared to the stock headlights, there was a cutoff which was really nice, and the light output is very dense it looks like it's evenly distributed no unevenly spots or light everywhere like the stock headlights.
Since you have 95 model civic I would get the projectors because I find them to look pretty good, but just not that good on the 96-00 models.

basicly anything that has a projector will be better than your stock hosings, but if you want great results you need to look into a retro fit.

make sure you get the correct bulb type, if you get tyc, youll be fine, they are good, never heard anything bad about them, however the "egay projecotrs" i have heard bad things about. remeber you get what you pay for.
