Hi newbie from the uk
Hello
Im new to this bb, my names chris, i own a 1992 Civic EG6 VTi and i live in england. Just started to frequent this bb after spending ages on the honda uk club board, to see what you americans do
Ive owned the car for a little over a year now, done a few choice mods, and im aiming for 200bhp and 150 lb/ft (ish) before the end of 2003 (all N/A). Im a ***** for spoon parts (i love spoon).
If u wanna see my cars specs click the linkage in my sig.
And heres a piccy:
I recently fitted some NSX calipers to it (last weekend) wondered if anyone else had done this in the states (im sure someone has to have) under 15's
Anyway hi

Welcome aboard. Car looks pretty clean. Good luck hitting 150 lb/ft of TQ w/ only 200hp and pretty much consider it impossible out of a B16A N/A of course. Good luck though.

Re: Hi newbie from the uk (Mr Milano)
Thanks for the warm welcome.
Yeah i know 150lbft is aiming too high but then anything more than the measily 114 i got now will be cool
As for dropping it, yeah its on the cards but i realy wanna sort all my suspension out at once (teins - yes pls), it dont help that the tires i got on are 195 50's not 195 55's.
Oh and most the roads are ok, nice and twistie, a few cool motorways left without speed cameras.
time to look around...
thanks

Looks good - is the UK VTi engine a SOHC VTEC, or a DOHC VTEC?
1.6L Civic engines aren't really capable of more than 115-120 lb-ft or so NA, unless you have a LOT of custom work done. You may want to consider switching to a larger engine, like a 1.8L B18C from an Integra - which has 128 lb-ft. To get up in the area of 150 lb-ft of usable torque NA, without breaking the bank, you will need a minimum of around 2.0-2.2L or so. For NA engines, generally the more displacement you have, the more torque you will have and more of it will be available at a lower, more usable RPM. Whoops, I went off on a tangent . . .
Anyway, good luck with your car, and welcome to Honda-Tech.

Re: Hi newbie from the uk (Targa250R)
Hi there
Yeah its a B16A2 DOHC, uk spec car with JDM bits bolted on.
Well igot it to 180bhp and 114lb/ft at the moment with breathing mods, next is ITR cams, skim the head a tad, intake manifold, throttle boddie and unichip it. Should be done just after newyear.
Not going for bigger engine or FI im just trying to get as much power outta my 1.6 N/A as i can (wihtout it going bang)
Thanks again im off to bed
Chris_Gee
P.S to the person who wrote me an IM i would love to reply but i cant as the bb wont let me, so please email me on Chris_Gee13@hotmail.com and ill get back to you that way, thanks.

Re: Hi newbie from the uk (slammed_93_hatch)
yeah its nice to see someone from europe with a respectable looking car. from what i've seen, the rice trend is in full effect over there. there's a post on here from some guy from belgium: he has some videos of him at the track with about 900 other ricers.

Welcome to Honda-Tech
Car looks nice and clean although it could be lowered a bit.
My lame D16Y7 in my heavier '00 hatch finished the 1320' over a second faster than yours, lol. What's the point of posting a quarter mile time or even running if you weren't even trying find out what your car could do in the quarter mile?
