Default Hi guys..

I have a Honda ex its a 1997 4 door and its a D16Y18 Vtec its been in my family for quiet a while and my dad has did most of the maintence to it (mechanic) but we have ran into this problem recently where it seems got a low idle miss like when u mash on it its like shakes and it doesnt know what to do my friend says its a cap and rotor and my dad thinks it jumped timing but if u guys could give me any ideas on what it might be before i drop a **** load of money that would be greatly appricated

wont hurt to re do the timing.. or look at it and see if that's the issue..

well, your old man should be able to figure out a miss if he is a mechanic.
It can only be a few things...
Ignition (cap, rotor, wire, plug.)
Fuel injector or wiring to it.....
etc etc etc.
Pull the plugs and see what they look like, if there is one that is different from the rest, than that is the cylinder you are allegedely "missing" on...this is assuming you have a miss, of course.
While the plugs are out, do a compression test (and a leakdown test if you have the capabilities) to see what kind of shape your block and head are in...
some more info would be nice, too.
-how many miles...
-what kind of driving conditions....
-really anything more would help...
