ok well i finally after months and months found me a car im going to go get.. its got a b16 swap in it.. everythings already done for me.. but the guy that im buying it from said that the ECU needs to be rechipped.. AND TRUST ME im no genius when it comes to this stuff.. he said it needed to be rechipped and he couldnt find no one where he lived to do it for him he said i could send it in to people on the internet to do it for me and they send it back... the wuestion im going to ask is. since the ecu needs to be redone why cant i just get on ebay and find me an ECU for a b16 motor.. would it work?

he said.. he has a stock civic ECU hooked up to it now but it limits my revs to only like 4k.. but it will be good enough to get it home. seein as if itso nly an hour from where i live.. but yeh..

couldnt i do that tho just get me a ECU for a b16 motor off ebay.. and plug it in and it go..cause he said the ECU reset it self.. just... comn i know u guys are REALLY smart at this.. someoens gotta help me out since im going to get the car come wednesday.. any info i would greatly appreciate..

u can buy one off ebay, look for a p30 if the motor obd1

ok so like.. im sorry im soooo stupid and stuff when it comes to this.. what exactly would i look for and how would i know if its that obd1 or whatever... the swap he said it had was a

when i bought my motor, and ecu and such the guy told me it needed to be "rechipped"

i just cut the jumper that makes it read the chip, now it runs on a stock map

depending on if this guy has the correct ecu for the motor, you could use this option
