Default Hey guys, I have the "Key wont turn" problem >.<

Hello all, I'm new here and hoping someone has some advice for me! As the title states, the key will not turn in the ignition. In addition to this the wheel is locked, so I am barely able to move it 3~ inches from center to each side. This happened two days ago to my wife so since then I have been asking friends to try and help and have been researching on the interwebs but have not come up with a solution other than an automotive locksmith. I have tried tapping the key, turning wheel side to side while trying to turn the key, inserted the key right as i start turning the wheel, make sure it is in park, press on brake pedal(idk why that would help?), and have used a spare key. It will not budge past the 0, or position it is in when you first insert the key. At this point I am assuming I need to call an autosmith but I honestly don't know a whole lot about cars,i ride a cbr so i know basic honda stuff and whatever can be transfered from bike to car(ie. changing oil, stuff like that) Any help is appreciated guys, thank you!

Remove cover around wheel 3 bolts on bottom. Lower column. Two bolts get drill drill out the sheer bolts that hold the lock ignition assembly there. If you don't have a drill you can use a chisel and hammer. Remove switch from back of it two small Phillips screws. Use a screw driver to operate this switch. Had to do that for a week or two till I made it to junkyard to get a cheep replacement with key. Should take like an hour a most.

WD40 with tube.. A towel in case it drips out... spray it in there.
Pull the steering wheel to the left a bit, and start to turn the key left and right.
It should unlock and start.
You probably have a very very dry mechanism & the pins arent moving.
Not that WD40 is what belongs in there ,but it should allow it to lube up enough to get it to move.

So essentially I am replacing what exactly? Ignition itself?

That's for a 92-95 but they are all similar I got mine in a junkyard 20$ and I also got the door locks so 1 key works it all. But you can see the odd bolts when they are tightened the top breaks off. You can use any bolt that fits. You can try some liquid graphite for locks but it might be to late. Shake jiggle an hope or just replace. If you want you can go to the dealer order an assembly that is already keyed to your car but it'll probably be 200$.

Steering or Ignition Lock may jam in few Honda Cars. The problem is mainly due to worn-out key but If the new key is also not capable to start the car then you may get the lock repaired from some locksmith or all by yourself. Here is video to repair ignition lock, valid on all Honda Cars.

Here is direct video link:

Yes you are absolutely right. I saw the "date of posting" later but someone who is facing the same problem in Honda Ignition Lock might find it useful. Hope it might help some1 someday
