k so my car has bin just shutting of on my wile i am driving. i try to strart it again but it will just sit there n crank but not turn over, until after a wile it starts but then i start driving n it dies again. i think i am not getting spark becouse when it dies n i am still rolling i try popping the clutch to jump start it n it wount n i can here my car like flooding but not cranking over wen i try doing it. i have a z6 in a ek hatch with a z6 distributor re wired for obd2. could that be my problem, n would re wireing the distributors cause them to go bad.?

if you coudnt understand it all u had to do was ask for me to re write it. no need to be rude about it.

what i was trying to say before was, my car keeps shutting of on me while i am driving. it usually shuts off at 2,500rpms. when it shuts off n i am still rolling i try to jump start it but it wont crank. then when i try starting it with the key it will just crank but wont finally turn over. could it be that i am getting no spark? and my car keeps messing distributors up, could it be that i have a obd1 dizzy re wired for obd2?

is the car throwing a check engine light? the car has to be getting spark if its running some of the time. what does it run like when it is running?

Sounds similar to a problem in my girlfriends 1991 Civic. Her car would die randomly though, and not at a certain RPM. It'd die and sometimes it'd start back up and sometimes it won't.

In short, her dizzy was gettin' destroyed and we still don't know the cause. We replaced the dizzy and her car is fine now.

No was even getting rude with you... maybe you shouldn't rewire things that you have no concept of.

when the car dies on you, check to see if you're actually getting spark or not. if you're not, you should check the ignition control module or the coil before you change the whole dizzy. if the car starts after it sets for a while and cools off, it sounds like one of the two I mentioned. you can check the coil yourself with a volt meter and you can take the ign control module to advance auto or whatever parts store you have and they can test it.
