Default Help with Vtec and rev limiter

Ok my Vtec doesnt kick in and my rev limiter comes on at 6500 rpm just trying to figure out what it is.

possibly a map sensor maybe. any cels? Jump the ecu anyways to see. I had a friends that his vtec wouldnt work, cel wasnt lit but i checked anyways and found the map code. so switched it and it was all good

no CELs and i dont know the first thing about jumping the ecu

usually if its the ecu, the cel will be lit constantly and wont flash any codes.

oil is full just checked it yesterday that was my first thing to check before i got on here

cmon guys....jumping right to the ecu?....oil makes sense thats the 1st thing to check...does the car get fully up to temp? if the temp guage doesnt reach normal operating temp vtec will not engage and rev limiter will b 6500. replace the thermostat and i bet all your problems are fixed

make sure all your sensors on the head are plugged in.

jumping to the ECU to check for codes is the first thing you should do.

ok if you look at it like a gas gauge mine sits about at the 1/4 mark... so should i go get a high temp thermo stat

b16 swaps suck. B16's are slow as ****. They have 160HP and a GARBAGE powerband. Basically no power until VTEC. Dont waste your money on that bullshit.
