HELP with timing belt

HELP with timing belt
Hi, i have a b18c5 and i installed skunk2 pro series stage 1 cams, and i am having a bit of trouble with the timing belt. i can not get it to have enough tennsion on it. it will have tension on the right side then it will swithch to the left side. any help would be much appriciated. thanks

make sure you have the right belt first off. as long as it is the correct belt and you loosened the tensioner, the belt should just slide right on.

just changed my timing belt.......to get tension everywhere....leave the tensioner bolt semi lose(the spring automatically puts tension on the belt and that bolt holds the tensioner in place....so it holds the tension).......so leaving that bolt semi loose, turn the crank for a rotation then tighten the bolt....after you do that there should be tension everywhere..........KEEP IN MIND that i'm not sure if that's the correct way to do it but it worked for me and i've had no problems since i changed it 2K miles ago.....

thanks. that helped a lot. i finnally figured it out, and then i found i didnt have compresion on # 2 cyilinder, could that mean i bent a valve.
