Default Help with swap question b18 R

Okay, I am so close to getting this swap, but I was told by someone that I could not pass a ref, because along with the swap, I am going to convert it from auto to manual. He told me that once the ref checked my ecu and saw that it was auto, I would fail. I am confused. Dont I change the ecu? hrmmm... Please let me know if my car will pass. I am going with a 2000 JDM Type R, but of course I am going to change out the parts to make is CALI acceptable...

Yes, you do change the ECU. You'll be fine as long as you hook up all of the smog equipment and have documentation for the engine and all.

Thanks for setting me straight. I also finally got a hold of a ref, and he said that it was good to go, so I am on my way right now, with the swap. Thanks for the help!
