Help! Replacing Distributor Problem!
Hi! I have a 93 civic with a d16z6 motor, the CEL came on with the code 9 (Cyclinder Sensor). I was told that it was the distributor. I Replaced my distributor and my car wont start no more! Whys this? I already set my timing and lined it up right! When I start my engine my distributor shakes or moves! Can anyone help me out plz?
Not sure if it's possible with the Z6, but make sure you didn't install your distributor 180 degrees out of time. Pull it back off, turn it 180 degrees and reinstall. Again, I'm not sure if it's even possible since most distributors have notched shafts that can only be installed one way.
A shaking and moving distributor sounds to me like it's not seated properly (see comment above about the notched shaft).

The dist to cam connection is off-set. If you have it 180 off, the dist will shake badly and the car wont start

Hmm, i think there may be a corolation here. Evs-one is right, the two pronged cam on the end of the distributor is offset slightly to once side so that theoratically at least its impossible to get it on wrong, that said if you try hard enough you can probably still get it on there.

I've seen it more than once- and the dist will shake violently
