Default help removing crank

i overlaped a bearing in my 98 civic ex, i was told i could drop the crank out get it machined and put it back in all from the bottom end without takeing the motor out
can this be done and if so is there anything i should know

yeah it would be easier to just pull the engine/tranny. In order to remove the crankshaft you need to take off the rear main seal and in order to do that you need to remove the tranny....but to save yourself a little trouble make sure to take off the crank pulley with the engine still in the car.
