HELP! overheating problem, no fans.
i have an ek with a gsr in it, and for some reason my fan does no come on and my temp gauge on the cluster does not work. just wondering if anyone has any clue of what this may be. the fuses are all good, that was the first thing i checked.

I had some issues with the fans not coming on a lil while after I got my swap done... If I remember right, it ended up being a bad wiring harness... I got a wrecked 92 hatch that we pulled a good harness off of and swapped it out. Check the thermostat too, perhaps?

You have two separate problems.
Fan:
The coolant temperature switch is located on the thermostat housing and has a 2P connector. Disconnect the connector and jump it with a short piece of wire. When you turn the key to ON (II), the fan should run continuously. If it does, the coolant temperature switch is bad and needs to be replaced.
Gauge:
The sending unit for the temp gauge is located underneath the distributor and has a single wire. Disconnect the wire and ground it against the block. With the key turned to ON(II), the gauge needle should now rise. If it does, then the sending unit is bad. If it doesn't, then the gauge is bad.
