Help me out please! Need info on D16Y8 in a 1992 VX
Well, since I have to wait another 6-12 months for a b18c1 swap I am investigating the D16Y8 because someone has one available locally.
What do I need?
D16Y8, transmission and EX OBD1 Ecu (P28) for good performance?
Anything else?
What is a good price for both motor+transmission ? A good deal is what?
Thanks for the info.

Just found out it doesn't include intake and no exhaust manifold but comes with a 98 EX ecu.
Do I need the d16y8 manifold and intake?
Can I use the VX ones? How much $$ are we talkinga bout to get those 2?
The 98 ecu can be used but it is not suggested?
THANKS FOR ALL THE INFO

no i would not use the vx ones, find a complete swap because you'll end up paying way more in the long run.

putting a vx intake manifold on a y8 would really restrict its breathing. The y8 comes with the best flowing d-series IM that honda ever made. Is there a reason that you must do this swap? Why not just wait and do the b18c1 swap that you were planning?

I think the motor you are talking about HAS the intake manifold, just no intake. (You and I were fishing for the same motor) it is recommended to find a D16 header... shouldn't be more then $20. Now my question is about the mounts... I know that the D-series has different types of mounts, just wanted to know EXACTLY which mounts I have to use.
