400 hp? You'll need a lot of cash and a fully built motor for that. And not knowing what motor for this set up tells me you do not know enough research for that.
But GSR motor would be the answer to your question.

money is not a problem so ur saying that the gsr motor is better are u talking about the jdm or the usdm specs?

Doesn't matter because you'll need aftermarket pistons, rods, fully built head and everything for 400 hp.

It doesn't really matter what you go with since you'll be tearing it apart anyways for the turbo buildup. If it were me I would probably go with an LS engine for the meantime since it'll cost less than any VTEC B series motor.

Non of the above,, i would go with a H-23 A-1,, larger displacement, and a stronger crank.

Since money is no object just get a Dart B18/B20 block that is all ready to built for notrous and turbo. Closed deck, better and more water jackets, oil piston squirters, etc. and get a B16 head from anywhere....

LS...can handle more boost stock, long *** tranny will give turbo plenty of time to spool, a VTEC head would be a nice addition...
also there is the ever-dominating B20-VTEC turbo
remember high compression + turbo =
EDIT: unless its going to be a race car fed with race gas...heh

What's closed deck and open deck refer to?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Closed decks are better way of decking the block so that is more rigid and offers a better seal with the head. Most Auto manufacturers do not take the extra step for mass produced engines. Also this block comes with iron ductile sleeves that reduce cylinder distortion and are replaceable... here check out their website and checkout honda-tuning mags writeup on it:

the best exception would be the k20a2 found in the rsx type s. the motor can hold up to a certain amount of psi. i already seen one at 30 psi.

what he said, i believe the lower the compression, the better the motor is to turbo.

k20a2 i thought it only fits into 01-03 civics correct me if i'm wrong. But ya it would be nice to have that engine.
