Help me build a custom 2.5" exhaust...
Alright... Im about to buy a magnaflow 4"x9"x14" muffler with a 6" round 18" long resonator (both 2.5" inlet/outlet) and a 2.5" cat, then custom mandrel bent piping. My question is what is the best method of getting custom mandrel bent pipes?
Also, what is the freest flowing cat (no test pipe). This will be for a high CR N/A application.
Thanks fellas,
-Nick-
Edit: Anyone know if one 18" resonator will be enough to keep the sound way down? I was thinking either one 18" or two 14" (both 6" in diameter).

Hey u jockin my setup? j/k......i have the same setup and you will be fine...u will love it it sounds like stock but when you are on it, it getz a lil louder then stock. Good choice......oh I have a Carsound Cat.....which is the company that makes Magnaflow stuff. I believe Magnaflow is a division of Carsound. It is 2.5 inch in/out and flows great. It is a great way to finish off your setup. BTW did you paint your magnaflow muffler black? I did ...

I can't remember but all three parts...cat, mid muffler (resonator), and rear muffler I purchased online from three different places. I just looked for the cheapest price and ordered them. $65 for carsound cat $57 for resonator $80 for rear muffler......all those prices are shipping included. Sorry i dont' remember where i got them all from.

Well I have been trying for a few weeks to get a type 1 exhaust for my 92 hatch and they cant get them right now...well I am about to give up and go custom...what about just doing a canister type muffler not to far down from the cat and then dumping to the ground before the exhaust piping makes the turn to go around the gas tank???...I have thought about doing the exhaust that way for a while and wondered why it isnt seen around at all??..if would be way cheaper then going all the way to the back...any ideas...I thought maybe it was do to state laws that dont allow that?

the problem with dumping exhaust under your car is 1) the heat, when you're at a standstill, goes right into the body of the car. 2) The fumes from the exhaust seep into the cabin. That becomes a safety hazard. 3) The exhaust pulses vibrate the car.
