Re: Help inner tie rod
It basicly just screws in. You have to remove the steering gear boots so have fresh clamps for them ready. Hold the inner rod end with big vice grips and back off the nut that tightens the outer rod end on without turning the inner rod end. Mark where the nut was on the inner rod end with a white marker or teflon tape. Once it's removed, lay it next to the new rod and mark where the nut is supposed to go. You'll still need a front-end alignment afterwards but by marking where the nut goes, you should be able to drive the car to the shop without too much difficulty.

Re: Help inner tie rod
make sure you have a big crescent wrench ready to unscrew the inner tie rod. also some of the aftermarket ones need an even bigger wrench. also i dont mark it like the guy above said. i do a driveway aligntment with a long strait piece of wood held on the rim and just line it up with body best i can. in theory if the piece of wood and perfectly strait and long enough you should be able to get it as good as the lasar at the shop. i always get it checked though. call a few peeps in the yellow pages someone will offer a free alignemnt check. start with goodyear.
