help! imma turbo my civic soon. can i use stock injectors. d16z6
im about to turbo my civic. never done it before, but i did lots of car work.
my question is, can i use my stock z6 injectors with no problem. wats the max psi can i run if i use stock injectors. this is not gonna be a track car or anything just daily driven car from home to school and around.
setup is mini me d15b8/z6 head with d15b cams.
complete z6 IM
turbo setup is ihi turbo with side mount intercooler, etc.
some help would be appreciate. i cant post in FI forum for some reason.

i dont see why you cant post in the FI forum...
Im pretty sure you cant use your stock injectors, I dont really see the point of going turbo if you cant turn the levels up to get a substantial increase... Itd be a few thousand dollars for like 20 morse horsepower or something if you left it on low boost levels. Why not just get new ones? theyre not that much..

Re: (_Edge.ONE)
low boost levels (below 7) and standard 12:1 fmu should do fine..no need for bigger injectors..not familiar with the size of your turbo though.

Re: (turbo95eg6)
the ihi turbo is a small one. if use a fmu and low boost at 7 psi , stock injector will work rite? imma use it temporary until i can find 450cc with resistor.
for some reason i cant post in the FI forum, it said restricted

Boost levels have nothing to do with how much air the turbo is pumping. You can pump a ton of air at low pressure levels, or run high boost with low air volume. He needs to give a much better description of the setup that he's looking at before you can say yes or no on stock injectors. A greddy or edlebrock turbo is perfectly fine on stock injectors.

Re: (EX_AutoXer)
heres my setup
this is gonna be budget setup and not for racing at the track. just a setup for daily driven car and some more power.
mini me with chipped p06 ecu to p08 specs. stock z6 intake manifold with stock injectors
ihi rhb5 vj11 probe turbo (small one) at 7-8 psi
dsm front mount intercooler with dsm bov
stock injectors along with stock fuel pump.
to run it alittle better , can i just use a 12:1 fmu.
is there any cheap bigger injectors that dont required to demel out the IM and running resistor pack.

thanks for the site but i check thru there already.
i believed most of the sohc with the small turbo runs with only the 450cc dsm injectors with no fmu or fuel pump. thats what they listed for their setup in the site.
im planning on only 200 hp ,thats it...

Re: help! imma turbo my civic soon. can i use stock injectors. d16z6 (Ignitecivic)
I ran z6 on greddy turbo with blue box on stock injectors up to 9lbs, with chipped p28. Hit full boost 1st 2nd, 3rd , and all of 4th gear, no problem. ran fluidyne rad. though. stock fuel pump too.
Im in houston.. elevation is sea level. higher elevations cause deton., also running 93 octane.
boost it! 7lbs for sure all day on z6 with good compression.

Since you are already running one of my ECUs, why don't you just let me remap it for turbo? That way you wouldn't need any check valves, fmu, AFC or any of that other BS. You could run 200 crank horsepower on 240cc injectors, but you would be at over 85% duty cycle at high RPM. It would be fine, hell I do it on low boost. I would recommend 310cc injectors for your boost level.
