I need ideas on how to make quick cash!! I have a new engine, but I need another 1000 to have it installed. Anyone have any good ideas on how to make money? I can walk to work for now, but I dont want to do it for long.

2. If you live in the dorms... open up a convenience store. Go to costco's or sams or whatever wholesale place and stack up on candy, chips, honey buns, sodas, and cigarettes. ps sell the cigarettes singly for a quarter and five for a dollar.
3. get some some buddies together and throw a party.
4. learn to cut hair.

Parts aren't cheap and everybody wants their crap to look tight so don't hate if somebody's tryin to find a way to get some dough for their parts.

i chose the drug route, it worked out well during school, didnt really make that much money, but enough to pacify my real addiction, hondas
wish i thought of the conveniece store idea tho, i would have done that, cigarettes are a good seller too, buy a carton and sell packs for 5$

Ok so I do work, and I put in 35-40 while a I am a 16 credit hour student, so dont bitch at me about not working to make money. I dont have free time like most people, and if I do, its usually spent doing homework. All my money goes to school, or other bills. I am usually short $$ during the month. I dont have the time to install the motor myself, and the 1k includes other things besides just the install.

I decided to put this post into this forum because I figured that most people with a EG+ civic or delsol have about the same amount of money as I do. I wanted to know how THOSE people made money and hooked up their rides. I am sorry if some of you are too ignorant to figure that out.

get good credit and get a credit card just make sure you pay it. You get too buy your parts, establish some credit and build. SAVE money too cars are great but not your life

Can you take out a loan? Do you know the guys at the shop well enough to work out monthly payments for the install? Have you tried selling your old motor? Tell you what...how about starting a pot for a motor install, have everyone pitch in like 5-10 bucks. I don't know what else to tell you, if I think of anymore I'll let you know.

I promise, if I wanted to, I could explaing how to take a honda motor out and put a new one in in one night.

Anyway, read up on honda tech and find your smartest friends to help you do it. You don't need many specialty tools, other than to get the axles out and to pull the motor physically out of the car. I.E. cherry-picker.

Have you thought about selling the old motor?

If I were you man, and I was coming up short every month, not to sound like an ***, but I wouldn't get into cars... or save the motor swap for later. See if you can sell your motor for more than you paid for it, that way you make a profit. and who knows... set aside some money every once in a while. I've been saving up for about 2 years for my car that I don't even have. That way you can learn more about things and maybe even find someone who'll install your motor for you (friend or something) just my 2 cents

Its simple. If you are a student then concentrate on what matters (People will jump off the Honda bandwagon and get into something else (Esp. with all the new cars coming out.....I should know I'm planning on being one of them....but I'm still keeping my hybrid).

When I was in high school I bought a hatchback SI (I really shouldn't have). This was in 95-96 (I was 17). My parents moved away and I didn't get enough assistance to go to York University, so I worked (I got clobbered making a left turn so I had no note or anything like that). In hindsight, I didn't really have to have that car. Great experience though

Realise that you ARE a poor college student, and these things are not appropriate for your life right now. I am in college and I realise that my car is on complete hold. I can't focus on it and I can't throw money at it.
