HELP! How to prevent SIR Wheel theft!

Why the heck does McGard Locknut instructions say to NOT use more than 1 wheel lock per wheel, and to secure it last?? It sounds as if the the locknuts are more vulnerable to coming loose ... is that the reason why? And can/would anyone backup McGard's instructions??
