Default Help: Fuel flter replacement

99 civic ex coupe

I was following my Helms manual and got the top bolt open smoothly and it was looking like i would be done in 30 minutes. Then I got to the bottom bolt for the fuel feed line. I tried my hardest to open it but now my wrench is stuck ONTO the god damn bolt and wont come off. To supplement this, i think i might have stripped the frickin thing. (I WAS using a flare wrench). I checked on hondapartsdeal.com and they're selling the fuel feed line for $30 and was wondering how easy or tough is it to replace and is there anything you would recommend. Thanks

are you sure you were using the right size wrench? that metal tends to be a little softer around those fittings... if its already stripped you might as well take a pair of pliers or a crescent wrench.

Yes, i was using the 14mm flare wrench. I would use a crescent if i could. The wrench wont even come off. here's a picture of what i mean.

See, the wrench is like this. I have to push it down in order to take it off and can't just pull it off like other wrenches. I'm pretty sure that i was pulling it the right way. And yes, i am somewhat hesitant to use a lot of force because the fuel line was beginning to bend and i am tried to prevent that if i can.

thats a flare wrench, you used to the right tool. be careful if you wanna salvage that fuel line. if you still wanna take it off and you havent taken it off yet try moving it from side to side to loosen the wrench and slide it off... if you think you're going to damage that line taking it off, id honestly leave the wrench on there and order a new line and find a way to get that wrench off when the line arrives, haha.

I finally got it off. I had to apply some baby oil and let it sit there for 5 minutes after which it glid of. I think i'm going to spray pb blaster on it and try again because the bolt doesn't seem to have stripped off.
